Collaborative Home Learning

Home learning has been many different things for different people. Some have continued to reveal their passion projects and do really interesting things along with working on basic facts and some great reading.

This term our new challenge is collaborative home learning. Your challenge is to use google apps to work together and produce something that others will enjoy and learn something from. The theme this week to start with is 'Relating to Others'.

Relating to others was our key Competency last term. The skills we focused on are life one ones and not to be forgotten.... so let's remember.

Create a presentation the helps us remember one of the relating to others ideas. Make sure you include
1. The name of the focus
2. Reasons why it is important
3. A relevant example of it in use that may be a situation that we would find ourselves in.

Your other challenge is to communicate and collaborate using the apps. Make sure it is not a one sided presentation. Make decisions together.

Make sure your work is proof read and appropriate to your audience.

If you need any assistance just ask and be sure to have your home learning shared with my by Thursday 29th July.

Good Luck and have fun

A clip recommended by Aimee

This is an amazing clip about a girl that draws a story about the second world war with sand (not fast forwarded)
she was the winner of Ukrain's Got Talent 2009. Thanks Aimee for something quite unique.

Awesome Ukulele Learning

Well the Ukulele man arrived this morning with many multicoloured ukuleles under his arm. We all had an opportunity to play 2 songs, learn 2 chords and really get the strumming action happening. We hope to continue this if we have enough ukuleles. Mr Ukelele (aka Mr Prichard) will skype in a lesson weekly to keep up our skills. Check out the great clips of you all playing.

We certainly had a good go at it!

We were aiming to get more people form New Zealand to visit our blog and see what we are up to. Our new NZ visitors increased over the week thanks to those in Savvy 7 spreading the word about our blog. Grace suggested a cake to celebrate and what a great cake it was.

Well done guys . Thanks so much Grace for the cake (and your special Nana too!)

We had a great day in Civic Square

It was great to get into the city and see things that we have never really "seen" before.

My favourite quote from today came when we walked into Civic Square and were admiring the "Fern" sculpture suspended above us. " I've been here lots before but I've never looked up" Anyone want to take ownership of this one?

Thanks so much to the parents who came with us.
