Our Passions are Popular

Georgia impressed us with her Passion Power Point this morning. Great going! She also shared this impressive photo that her mum had taken while at work! Cool job!

I wonder is she would come and tell us a bit more about her job and the skills she uses every day?

Speech Spectacular

On Wednesday we went to Maungaraki School to take part in the Interschool Speech Competition. Normandale showed great form and took out several prizes. It was a very entertaining time and a wonderful opportunity for some to reveal their nerves of steel when speaking in front of a large audience.

So what is statistics?

Well using my google search I found that....

Statistics is ... the science of making effective use of numerical data relating to groups of individuals or experiments.

Fill in the gaps as you are reading and explain to a buddy what that tells you.

This is really mind blowing!

If the world were of village of 100 people then each person represents 64 000 000 people. These are the statistics from 1 Jan 2005. What a mind blowing start to our Statistics unit.

Today we used 'into the book' to focus on visualising. As good readers we visualise what is happening.

Before we started we brainstormed some words that could possibly go into the dictionary in place of visualising. Which ones do you think best describe visualising?
